On October 15, official operation started in Woosung Delta Passenger Liner Port of Shanghai International Shipping Center. Cadres including Shen Jun, Deputy Mayor of Shanghai, Chen Aiping, First Deputy Director of National Maritime Bureau, and Yao Ping, Vice President of Sinotrans & CSC attended the opening ceremony.
Woosung Delta Passenger Liner Port of Shanghai International Shipping Center is jointly invested and constructed by Shanghai Changjiang Shipping Co., Ltd. and Baoshan District, Shanghai. The port consists of four parts, namely, a dock Ramp Bridge, a platform above water, passengers’ buildings and docks.
The two large docks established in the port during the first phase can simultaneously harbor two international vessels with a capacity above 100,000 tons respectively. The designed clearance capacity is 608,000 person-time / year. Two berths with a capacity above 100,000 tons respectively are established on the completion of the second phase. By the end of September 2011, 65 ship / time have been arranged in the international vessel strategy of Woosung Delta Passenger Liner Port in 2012.
