On September 23, Sinotrans Limited and Keppel Telecommunication & Transportation Ltd (Keppel T&T) signed a joint venture contract in Shanghai, agreeing to conduct a joint development and construction of an inland port project in Sanshan District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province, via a new joint venture company, i.e., Wuhu Sanshan Port Co., Ltd.
　　Zhang Jianwei, director of the Board of Sinotrans & CSC and President of Sinotrans Limited, and Feng Qiqun, President of Keppel T&T, affixed their signatures to the contract as representatives of both parties. Deputy Mayor of Wuhu City Lin Hai and other officials attended the signing ceremony.
　　Sinotrans Limited and Keppel T&T will give full play to their respective advantages in port and logistics to establish a high-quality port logistics base through joint investment. In doing so, they will provide efficient and economic logistics services to enterprises, promote the industrial transfer in the cities along the Yangtze River in Anhui Province, and motivate the economic development of Wuhu City. Meanwhile, Sinotrans’ logistics capability along the golden water course of Yangtze River will be further enhanced by facilitating the construction of an integrated logistics system combining ships, goods and the port.
　　Wuhu Sanshan Port Co., Ltd. is a joint venture of Sinotrans Limited and Keppel T&T, registered with RMB 280 million of capital, with shareholders of each party holding 50% of shares. The throughput of the port is designed as follows: general cargo: 930,000 tons/year; bulk cargo: 3 million tons/year; and container: 380,000 TEU/year. It’s reported that Keppel, the parent company of Keppel T&T, is one of the largest globalized group corporations in Singapore.
