SEPTEMBER 4, 2012 — MAN Diesel & Turbo has introduced the latest addition to its four-stroke portfolio, the L35/44DF engine.

The dual fuel engine has been developed to comply with IMO Tier II emission limits in diesel mode and IMO Tier III limits in gas operation. A high degree of fuel flexibility (HFO, MDO, MGO and natural gas) was another primary design objective.

Introduced at a time when separate emissions regulations for harbors are set to come into play, the L35/44DF has an output of 530 kW/cylinder. The inline 35/44DF is available in 6 – 10 cylinder configurations, equivalent to total power outputs from 3.2 MW to 5.3 MW. This is the highest power output available in the segment and complements that offered by the larger L51/60DF type.

 

The first prototype entered its test phase at the beginning of the second quarter of 2012 at MAN Diesel & Turbo's Augsburg facility. A V-type engine version is being developed simultaneously that will enlarge the power-output range of the company's dual-fuel engine portfolio as part of MAN Diesel & Turbo's market strategy.

The L35/44 engine has also been specifically developed to enable 32/44CR-T2 engines to be retrofitted, thanks to a high level of component synergies and the same crankcase, which can be re-machined on board. Subsequent engine operation of the retrofitted engines is mainly intended for gas mode using a separate pilot ignition system – based on proven technology widely employed by the truck industry – that is independent of the primary, common rail injection system. However, the common rail system is retained and fully functional as a back-up system in the event of any problem while operating in gas mode.

引进新型双燃料四冲程柴油机

 

Sept. 4,2012-MAN Diesel&Turbo 引进了L35/44DF以外的最新四冲程机器系列产品。

双燃料引擎的发展,是为了符合以柴油模式运转时满足IMO Tier II排放限值标准,及使用天然气燃料时满足Tier III排放标准的要求而设计。另一初始设计目标是使该机型燃料选择具有高度灵活性(HFO,MDO,MGO,天然气)。

 船舶可以根据港口排放规定的不同选用不同类型的燃料,L35/44DF型机器输出功率是530KW/缸。直列式35/44DF机型可根据需要配置为6 - 10缸结构,相当于输出总功率从3.2兆瓦到5.3兆瓦。这是该系列最高可选的功率输出范围,作为补充,MAN所提供的更大的机型是L51/60DF系列。

第一台原型机已在2012年第二季度在MAN Diesel & Turbo's奥格斯堡工厂进入测试阶段,作为MAN Diesel & Turbo's公司市场战略的一部分,能够有更大功率输出范围的V型双燃料系列产品也同步进行研发中。

归功于零部件高度通用性,且两者曲拐箱相同,L35/44引擎也被专门开发为可以利用原32/44CR-T2机器,在船上重新车制加工,进行改装后获取。基于已在汽车工业被广泛使用,经证明可行的事实,改装后的机器主要通过一套独立的点火系统,使用天然气作为燃料运转,这是一套独立于最初共轨喷射以外的系统。作为气体模式操作时出现任何故障的备份系统,共轨喷射系统所有功能均予以保留。
